Oct. 5 -- The new Fleet Boston Corp. announced a bigger-than-expected corporate board yesterday, composed of 24 prominent business, community, and academic figures who will help chart the new company's future.
New England's largest bank, formed out of Fleet Financial Group Inc's acquisition of BankBoston Corp., had originally planned on a 22-person board.
