Guy Zuccaro of Salem, a retired security officer for Polaroid Corp. in Waltham, died Wednesday at the Hunt Nursing and Retirement Home in Danvers after a long illness. He was 84.
Born and educated in Salem, Mr. Zuccaro served as a seaman first class on the USS Stafford, a destroyer escort, which saw heavy action during World War II.
Following this service, he worked at the Helbern Thompson Tannery. He later worked in the security department of the Polaroid Corp. in Waltham.
