Oct. 1 -- HURST, Texas -- North East Mall is a strong draw, netting more than 10 million shopper visits annually.

But it has set its sights higher. And the transformation is about quality as much as quantity.

The Hurst mall is passing a milestone this week in its three-year renovation plan with the opening of a 3-story Dillard's store, along with a new 65,000-square-foot wing and a parking deck.
