Executive Order 13129 - blocking property and prohibiting transactions with the Taliban.(Pres Bill Clinton)(Transcript)

Pres Bill Clinton has ordered all property and interests in property of the Taliban group and all transactions with that group that are within US jurisdiction to be blocked. The order takes effect on Jul 6, 1999. Clinton issued the order because the actions and policies of the Taliban in allowing territory under its control in Afghanistan to be used by terrorists constituted an unusual and extraordinary threat to US national security and foreign policy.
