The Kingdoms of Edward Hicks
A Quaker missionary and preacher, Pennsylvania folk painter Edward Hicks (1780-1849) is best known for his many images titled The Peaceable Kingdom. This exhibition divides Hicks's oeuvre into two sections: his religious scenes and his more lucrative secular works.
