The computer aided manufacturing (CAD) industry has existed since 1954 and has profoundly transformed manufacturing. Accessibility to computers will rapidly increase as they are becoming ever smaller, faster and affordable. This will also mean that increasingly sophisticated computers will enable more advanced computer aided design (CAD)/computer aided manufacturing capabilities. The personal computer CAD market is expected to continue expanding and surpass the growth of traditional integrated CAD/CAM.
