A family of keen bushwalkers who got lost overnight on a Victorian mountain range have blamed their misfortune on "the lack of signs on bushwalking tracks".

"A section of the walk was well-marked," said one of them, "but the signs suddenly stopped, causing us to take a wrong turn."

This would certainly not have happened had these mountain adventurers confined their walking to the designated wilderness facility in the Mt Reconciliation (formerly Mt Victoria & Albert) National Park north of Ghasthurst.
