Four laboratory methods of body composition assessment have been reviewed, namely hydrodensitometry, air displacement plethysmography, isotope dilution and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry. Similarly, four field methods of body composition were also reviewed, namely, bioelectrical impedance analysis, near-infrared interactance, anthropometry and skinfolds.
