Over the past year or so a stream of statistical reports based on the 1996 Census has provided new information about the characteristics of the Canadian population. One of these reports provides a profile of Canada's visible minority population.
It takes no statistics to know that visible minorities have become an increasing large component of the population. Look around. But the Census results show how and why their numbers have grown.
