Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the US in Jan 1998 and was met by a thousand or more supporters of Rev Jerry Falwell. Netanyahu and Falwell met and discussed several issues that would affect US-Israeli relations. As a result, Falwell issued a statement calling for the easing of political pressure on Israel.
