The late jazz great Sarah Vaughan was, recently saluted in her hometown of Newark, NJ, on the anniversary of her 75th birthday with a street named after her and a special all-star concert.
Newark Mayor Sharpe James issued a proclamation renaming the street outside the New Jersey Performing Arts Center "Sarah Vaughan Way."
"I hope all our young people will look up and see Sarah Vaughan Way and be inspired," James said.
