Hepatitis C is the most severe type of hepatitis, causing fatigue and, in many patients, destruction of the liver. It is a bloodborne disease gotten through needle drug use and multiple sex partners. There is no vaccine, but there are drug treatments, such as interferon with ribavirin. Hepatitis C patients should stop drinking alcohol, see a doctor regularly, avoid new medications, and get a hepatitis A vaccination.
