Restaurant Hospitality held its 1998 World of Food and Wine awards ceremony recognizing 24 restaurants in the US for their excellence in wine list and preparation. The restaurants were divided into three categories including United States, International and Short List. The winners for each category were Albion River Inn, Albion, CA; Friends Lake Inn, Chesterton, NY; and Aquagrill, New York City, NY, respectively. They were chosen based on variety in style, overall wine selections, pricing scheme and compatibility with the menu.
