The congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family has a new leader, Sylvia Thibodeaux. The African American Thibodeaux started teaching in the late 1960's at a Catholic school in Tulsa, OK, where she experienced hostility due to her race. She spent 18 years in Nigeria, where she tried to start a religious order for women from all the different tribes.
