The first seeker characterization flight for the Army's Patriot Advanced Capability-3 (PAC-3) was postponed on Friday due to continued problems with the Hera target missile.

"Preliminary information indicates that the [Hera] target launch was aborted due to the on-board computer receiving a launch inhibit signal causing the target to go into automatic shutdown mode," an Army Space and Missile Defense Command spokeswoman said. She added the matter is under investigation.

The Hera is manufactured by Coleman Aerospace.
