Turkey and the Kurds: It's time to work on a longstanding problem.

You've seen the pictures of violent Kurdish protests all across Europe over Turkey's snatch of Kurdish rebel leader Abdullah Ocalan, who was on the run in Kenya.

Ocalan led the Kurdish Workers' Party, or PKK, in a bloody 15-year struggle for independence for 12 million Kurds in Turkey. Now his arrest has caused the State Department to urge U.S. citizens to be careful when traveling, because allegations of CIA help in Ocalan's capture may render Americans vulnerable to attack.

But whether Ocalan's arrest turns out to be a blessing or curse for Turks _ and Americans _ ...
