Provision of all-electric drive for injection moulding machines is in most cases a deliberate move to free the machine from what is seen as the potentially polluting effect of a hydraulic power system. Some long-standing machine manufacturers have added electric machines to their ranges alongside their hydraulic machines. Others have not, and make pointed remarks about the lubrication needed on all the mechanical actuators in an 'oil-free' all-electric system.
