George Dennis' two-volume book 'The Cities and Cemeteries of Etruria,' is an important source for getting to know the Etruscans. The book was published in 1848 was quickly recognized to be a literary and archaeological masterpiece. However, Dennis' accomplishment has not been recognized in the UK, probably because the Etruscans are not considered to be of importance especially when compared to other great ancient civilizations.
