Christian groups are proclaiming that millenium would signal the end of the world. However, it is argued that the biblical myth of the end-time was borrowed from Persia and that predictions of the apocalypse from sources such as the book of Daniel, New Testament and doomsayers in the 20th century have failed to become reality. Moreover, the Roman Catholic Church and Protestant and Eastern Orthodox churches have avoided making specific claims about the apocalypse in the 21st century.
