Dec. 12 -- IRVINE CO. READIES CRYSTAL COVE HOME DEVELOPMENT: The Irvine Co. is making sure it's ready next year to launch Crystal Cove, a planned 800-home development north of Laguna Beach.

But the developer says it won't start grading before spring -- at the earliest.

"We want to be ready to go as soon as possible but we won't begin during the rainy season," said Irvine Co. spokesman Paul Kranhold.
