From: Rocks & Minerals  |  Date: 11/1/1997  |  Author: COOK, ROBERT B.

The lead and zinc mines of Missouri also contain many mineral crystals, including hemimorphite. Hemimorphite is hydrous zinc silicate, and its crystals range from colorless to white, including pale to dark blue, pale green, brown, gray and yellow. Outside the US, large hemimorphite crystals have been discovered in Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Iran, Russia, Algeria, Zambia, Brazil, Mexico, and Australia.
