Nov. 8--Charles Bowyer once a day fires up the Kiski Junction Railroad's 1943 diesel engine and slowly chugs four miles to its only customer, the Allegheny Teledyne steel plant in Bagdad.

The prize at the end of the trip through woods along the Kiski River is a rail car or maybe two filled with scrapped silicon steel bound for recycling in the furnaces of a sister plant in Brackenridge.
