Oct. 7--Alex Hardy's hardly unaware of the recent national flap about peanuts and the fatal allergic reactions they sometimes cause. A farmer in Hawkinsville, Hardy expresses genuine sympathy for those who simply cannot eat peanuts, alias goobers, also known as Georgia's official crop.

But ban peanut products in school cafeterias? Create "no-peanut buffer zones" on airlines? Replace peanuts with pretzels on even the shortest flights?
