Mexico's Pemex Finally Opens Morelos for Bids.

MEXICO'S STATE COMPANY Petroleos de Mexico SA has finally opened the bid process for Petroquimica Morelos SA, the first of seven petrochemical plants in which it plans to sell minority shares. After two years of false starts, Pemex published bid documents last week for the sale of 49 percent of the Morelos plant, in Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz state. The facility is considered the most modern of the plants being sold.

The sale of the assets are part of Mexico's five-year development plan for the petrochemical sector that ends in 2000, for which implementing legislation ...
