Sep. 18--AB Airlines, the fledgling cut-price carrier floated on the stock market this summer, is planning to challenge established giants such as British Airways and Virgin on North Atlantic routes.

It plans to use Boeing 767s carrying 181 passengers in two classes and promises "very competitive fares", slicing about 20 percent off established levels in line with its discounts on European routes.
