LOS ANGELES -- Lindane, the active ingredient in prescription-strength pediculicides, has become a bone of contention again after a lawyer here filed a petition with the California Attorney General's office seeking to clarify the state's 12-year-old law requiring citizens to be notified when they are exposed to toxic or carcinogenic substances.
