PVS Buys Sud-Chemie's Sulfuric Acid

PVS CHEMICALS INC. has further expanded its sulfuric acid business in Europe by acquiring Sud-Chemie's sulfuric acid plant in Kelbeim, south Germany. The Detroitbased company moved into the European sulfuric acid sector last year when it took over a sulfuric acid plant at Gent, Belgium, from UCB.

The acquisition of the Keiheim unit, which supplies customers in Bavaria and parts of Austria, will double PVS's European capacity of around 70,000 metric tons per year, including derivatives.
