MELBOURNE, Australia, June 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Standard & Poor's today assigned its double-"A" long-term and "A-1"-plus short-term corporate credit ratings to Melbourne Water Corp.
The ratings reflect Melbourne Water's very strong business position as the monopoly supplier of water and wastewater services to Melbourne, its very strong customer base, the above-average condition of its assets, and support from its owner, the Victorian government. Melbourne Water's financial profile has been significantly improved in the past two years through large debt reductions.
