The General Assembly on 3 December adopted a Declaration on Social and Legal Principles Relating to the Protection and Welfare of Children, which proclaims that every State should give a high priority to family and child welfare and that child welfare depends upon good family welfare. Resolution 41/85 containing the text of the 24-article Declaration was adopted without a vote.
