MARKET CONDITIONS FOR epinephrine, sometimes known as adrenaline, have improved drastically since a production shakeout in late 1995 interrupted supplies and caused a price spike for the synthetic hormone.
A list price of $2.37 per gram at the beginning of 1997 represents a jump of just 3 percent from year-end 1996 levels, but is a far cry from an upward adjustment of roughly 60 percent put in place at the beginning of 1996.
