China is not only a major country of rare earth resources, but has also become a major country of rare earth production, export and application.

The rare earth reserve in the world is over 44.8 million tons and the reserve in China is 36 million tons, accounting for 80%. The output of rare earth concentrate in the world was around 88 000 tons in 1995 and the output in China was 48 000 tons, accounting for 55%.
