The OECD Council approved the membership of the Czech Republic and Hungary in the Organisation's Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) on June 27. The move follows the two countries' recent membership of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (the Czech Republic joined on December 21, 1995, and Hungary on May 7, 1996). Their accession brings the membership of the Paris-based Nuclear Energy Agency to 27.
