Representative Charles Canady (R-FL) has introduced legislation that would eliminate the time limitation on Medicare benefits for the immunosuppressive drugs taken by transplant recipients.
The bill (H.R. 3138), which calls for amending title XVIII of the Social Security Act, was referred to the House Committee on Ways and Means and to the Committee on Commerce "for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker."
As Transplant News went to press, H.R. 3138 had four co-sponsors, according to Rep. Canady's staff. They include Reps: W.G. Hefner (D-NC), William Lipinski ...
