Summary: During a ceremony organised on October 18 to present a new book on non-ionising radiation nuisances*, the Belgian Green Euro-MP Paul Lannoye made a fresh appeal for tougher European standards to be adopted to help combat electromagnetic pollution. He wants the proposed amendment to Directive 85/377/EC to ensure that it becomes mandatory, rather than optional, to make impact assessments of any new transformation sub-station.
