Since Sinar Mas Group started to cultivate bananas on a large-scale basis in Maluku and Halmahera in 1991, this horticultural commodity has been increasingly attractive to investors. Before long, Kodel Group, Astra Group, Gunung Sewu Group, and PT Hasfarm followed Sinar Mas Group's step.
