MEXICO THIRD LARGEST MARKET FOR U.S. PROCESSED FOODS IN 1992

According to the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), US exports of processed foods to Mexico totaled US$1.9 billion in 1992, third only to Japan and Canada. The USDA report, released in late August, also noted that Mexican subsidiaries of US companies sold another US$4.6 billion of processed foods in Mexico last year. The USDA report calculated that exports of US processed foods to Mexico have increased at an annually rate of 22%.
