Glacial acetic acid is widely used in synthesis of basic organic chemical materials, pesticides, medicines, dyes and plastics. The applications of glacial acetic acid are mainly in the manufacture of acetic anhydride, acetic ester and chloroacetic acid, which consume one third of the total, then followed by traditional fine chemicals such as agricultural pesticides, medicines, and dyes, which take up about one quarter.
