INDONESIA'S COOKING OIL INDUSTRY: North Sumatera as the Largest Center of Cooking Oil Production in Indonesia

Currently, the largest center of cooking oil production in Indonesia is North Sumatera, especially when seen from the number of cooking oil plants operating in the province. North Sumatera also has the largest acreage of oil palm plantation in Indonesia. In terms of production capacities, however, Jakarta ranks the first in the country. North Sumatera has a total of 26 cooking oil plants with a combined production capacity of 1,217,619 tons per annum. Jakarta only has 12 cooking oil plants, but their combined production capacity is 1,559,228 tons per annum or 34.6% of ...
