The first dolomite fertilizer plant in Belize, aimed at satisfying the needs of the banana and citrus industries in the Caribbean and Central America, has opened here. The plant, near the town of Punta Gorda in the southern Toledo District, produces fine ground fertilizer from dolomite mined at a nearby quarry.
