CONDITION AND PROSPECTS OF CEMENT INDUSTRY: Indocement becoming more dominant

The Indonesian cement industry has changed a little. PT Indocement Tunggal Perkasa (ITP) or the Indocement Group is strengthening its position as the biggest cement manufacturer after acquiring the cement plant of PT Tridaya Manunggal Perkasa Cement (TMPC), which is located in Cirebon, West Java.

In the past, PT ITP controlled only 62.5% of the stock of PT TMPC and the rest held by the Sahid Group (22.5%) and Metropolitan Kencana (15%). Reportedly since it started operation in 1982, PT TMPC has continued to suffer losses. Its debt equity ratio at present is said to be 80%:20%. ...
