A basic programme for the next international conference on 'Textiles in medical and surgical applications' (TIMS II) has now been drafted. The meeting is to be held on 10 and 11 November 1992 at the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), UK. Papers accepted to date are as follows: 'A new fabric for wound-care applications an alternative to woven gauze' J. Dyer et al. (Johnson & Johnson, USA); 'Development and use of ventile fabrics' D.
