FOODSTUFFS: NEW PROPOSAL IN THE PIPELINE ON FOOD ADDITIVES

Summary:

Moving swiftly on with the harmonisation of foodstuffs in the Community before the arrival of the Single Market in 1993, the European Commission is in the process of preparing a new proposal for a Directive on the use of miscellaneous additives in foodstuffs. Such a Directive will include all food additives, with the exception of colours and sweeteners for which separate Directives have already been proposed.
