PHILADELPHIA, June 17 /PRN-Mediawire/ -- The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts announced today that it has purchased the Charles Bregler's Thomas Eakins Collection -- the last, largely unexplored cache of Thomas Eakins's art objects and documentary materials, from Mary Bregler, its owner.

This purchase has been made possible by a grant from the Mabel Pew Myrin Trust, and contributions from the Academy's Henry S. McNeil Acquisitions Fund, the John S. Phillips Bequest, the John F. Lewis Fund, and the John T. Morris Fund. In addition, the Academy has received ...
