ILGWU expected to elect Jay Mazur as its president
Jay Mazur, general secretary-treasurer of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, is expected to be elected today as the union's 11th president, succeeding Sol C. Chaikin, who intends to retire.
Mazur, 54, is not likely to face any serious opposition during balloting by 700 delegates from the United States and Canada attending the union's 39th convention here at the Hotel Diplomat.
