July would seem the wrong time to be in the Bahama Islands, but the humidity and the daily thunderstorm were no deterrent to the nearly 100 boats that met at the Abacos for this year's races. Sailors from all over the Southeast came for the racing, which is serious, and the fun, which is equally serious.

Regatta Time in Abaco, now in its eighth year, is a series of five races that begin at Hopetown and Marsh Harbor the last week in June, range northward through the translucent beauty of the Sea of Abaco to Man O' War Cay and Treasure Cay, and culminate on Independence ...
