BELLEVUE, Wash. (FNS)--Natural Selection, an 11-store mall concept chain based here, is capturing baby-boom customers with a whimsical presentation of rugged Northwest "outdoor fashion."
"We saw a real void in the outdoor market," said company president Bob Skar, who started Natural Selection two and a half years ago, after vacating the post of operations manager for the Seattle-area franchise of The Athlete's Foot, which had 16 units when he left in 1983.
