NEW YORK -- A pickup in the textile business during last year's third quarter is fully reinforced by Government statistics showing production increases in most fabric categories.

These figures show substantial hikes in both cotton gray goods and man-made fiber gray goods. While the 1982 third quarter production of cotton gray cloth was at 876.5 million square yards, this was up last year to 1,038.2 million square yards.
