Since the military collections have been rehoused and are now accessible for research, scholars are discovering the research potential Fort Ticonderoga has to offer. In June, for an entire week, we were pleased to host the 18th-century British military firearms historian Dr. DeWitt Bailey. He came to study our collection in preparation for writing two books: Pattern Dates for British Ordnance Small Arms 1718-1783 and British Military Small Arms in North America 1737-1783.
