I have remarked in the past that a personal test for a successful book is its ability to keep me from getting sleepy on my daily journey on the subway. This book certainly accomplished that, and it actually did double duty, as there were times it kept me entertained while I was waiting for shuttle buses when the subway service was limited during the January snowstorms.
