Georgia state Senator Ralph David Abernathy III, 39, recently was indicted on charges that he stole more than $13,000 from the state by filing allegedly bogus expense forms as a legislator.
The indictment charges that Abernathy, son of the late civil rights leader Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, cashed 10 checks from the state after allegedly falsifying forms for reimbursement of legislative expenses.
